Stella has worked in mental health and research for the past 20 years. She has 14 years of experience as a clinical psychologist. She spent over a decade providing intensive individual and group therapy and also providing training to staff in the treatment of eating disorders and borderline personality disorder. She has worked at the university counselling service, and at Hunter Primary Care, providing therapy for children, adolescents and adults. She also provided lectures for several years as a conjoint lecturer in the psychology department at the University of Newcastle. Stella is experienced in several therapies, primarily Cognitive behaviour therapy, Acceptance and commitment therapy, Dialectical behaviour therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, and the conversational model of adult psychotherapy. Her special interests are in teaching mindfulness, enhancing self worth, increasing motivation and helping clients to achieve their goals.
